Fourteenth DCMTK snapshot version 3.6.1

Yesterday, a new development snapshot of the DCMTK has been made available. This is the fourteenth snapshot after the official release of version 3.6.0. As always, we have updated the code for the latest changes to the DICOM standard. That means, the data dictionary, the list of UIDs and the like is up-to-date and based on the definitions of the current edition of the standard text DICOM 2015c plus all recently approved Supplements (apart from Supplement 181) and Correction Items (CP). Public access to DCMTK’s bug tracker

When I started to work on the DCMTK almost 20 years ago, we had a common text file where we noted new ideas, feature requests, patches and bugs that could not be integrated or solved immediately. This internally managed text file grew over time and we tried to improve its structure as good as possible. Many years later, we migrated this file to a Wiki system, which provides better support for modifying textual content by different people, allows for tracking changes, and so on. But access to this system was still restricted to the few DCMTK developers. Continue reading

DICOM 2015c

Two days ago, the 2015c edition of the DICOM standard has been made available on the NEMA server. Compared to the previous edition from April this year, 2 supplements and 15 correction items (CPs) have been incorporated. The standard text now consists of 5,312 pages (PDF version). Continue reading
