Fifteenth DCMTK snapshot version 3.6.1

Today, a new development snapshot of the DCMTK has been made available. This is the fifteenth snapshot after the official release of version 3.6.0. As always, we have updated the code for the latest changes to the DICOM standard. In other words, the data dictionary as well as the list of SOP Class and Transfer Syntax UIDs is up-to-date, i.e. based on the definitions of the current edition of the standard text (DICOM 2015c) plus all recently approved Supplements and Correction Items (CP). Support for “Other Long” value representation

Today, I added support for the final text version of Supplement 181 (Tractography Results Storage SOP Class) to the DCMTK, i.e. the dcmdata module now fully supports the new value representation (VR) “Other Long” (OL) in the same manner as the other 30 previously introduced VRs.  Continue reading →

Updated DCMRT (based on DICOM 2015c)

Yesterday, I’ve updated the DCMRT module which is part of the current DCMTK snapshot (not of the current release). That means, the automatically generated C++ classes of the low-level API have been updated based on the official machine-readable version of the 2015c edition of the DICOM standard. DCMTK updated after DICOM WG-06 meeting in November 2015
